With the independence of the former Soviet constituencies in Central Asia (CA), and with the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 1991, there has been a growing interest towards Asian studies in this region. At the same time, there has been a growing interest towards Japanese studies, Educational and Cultural Policy, and International Relations and Public Policy in these countries with increasing number of enrolling students into specialized departments.
