英語特別プログラム

留学生を対象として、以下の4つの英語特別プログラムが併置されています。
In addition to the standard two-year program and ASIP, five special programs for students from abroad taught in English are ongoing

    Special Program in Japanese and Central Eurasian Studies (1+3 Combined MA and PhD Program)

(1)国際関係論短期特別プログラム(JDS:1.5年制)
Special Program in International Relations- JDS (1 and a half years)

平成14年度開始された特別選抜の社会人留学生を対象にした短期プログラムである。このプログラムは、JICA/JICEによる人材育成支援無償援助事業(JDS)を対象とし、国際関係論、公共政策、教育行政の分野で、アジア諸国の若手公務員の能力向上に資することを目的としている。入学時期を秋学期とし、英語による講義、演習、研究指導等を行い、原則として1年間で修了させる。

Special Program in International Relations- JDS (1 and half year)
This program, established in 2002, aims to strengthen the capacity of the young public sector officials from Asian countries in the areas of international relations, public policy and education administration. This program is sponsored by the “Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)” in the framework of Japan’s ODA. For each academic year, which begins at the Fall semester (October), there will be approximately 5 JDS fellows enrolled in the program.

(2)アフリカの若者のための産業人材育成イニシアティブ(ABE)
African Business Education Initiative for Youth (ABE)

本プログラムは、アフリカ諸国にて産業開発を担う優秀な若手人材の育成を目的とした英語による教育プログラムである。応募者は、各自の志望分野の学術活動を通じて、アフリカにおける産業開発に資する人脈の形成と、アフリカにおける日本企業の経済活動の水先案内人となることが期待されている。選考は、独立行政法人国際協力機構(JICA)と一般財団法人日本国際協力センター(JICE)との協力の下で行われる特別選抜による。

The objective of the ABE Initiative master’s degree and internship program is to support young personnel who have the potential to contribute to the development of industries in Africa. This program offers opportunities for young African men and women to study at master’s courses in Japanese universities as international students (hereafter referred to as participants) and experience internships at Japanese enterprises.

(3)経済・公共政策プログラム(PEPP)
Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP)

The Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) had a new beginning in April 2015, building on the experiences of the two predecessor programs: Program in Economic and Public Policy Management (PEPPM) and the Graduate Program in Economics English Track (GPEET), in conjunction with the reorganization of all the English-taught programs in social science fields in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsukuba.

(4)人文社会科学に立脚した日本研究・ユーラシア地域研究者育成プログラム
Special Program in Japanese and Central Eurasian Studies (1+3 Combined MA and PhD Program)

The 1+3 Combined MA and PhD English-language program is a unique program offering students MA and Ph.D. degrees in Japanese and Eurasian Studies in Japan. It is intended for students from the Eurasian region (Central Asia, Russia, CIS countries, Mongolia).Classes, guidance, and writing theses and dissertations are conducted in English. Areas of expertise consist of various subjects related to the humanities and social sciences disciplines including the fields of Japanese, Eurasian and International Studies. The graduates of the program are expected to promote cultural, economic, and technological exchanges between Japan and the Eurasian continent as well as to play active roles in the educational and research institutes of their home countries.
